METHODS – The Animal Pyramid Foundation regularly takes care of animals that have no or very little chance of finding shelter elsewhere. A good example of this is Sam, a big bastardised Belgian Malinois that crossed Anne’s path just as he was about to be put down.
Sam was dragged from home to home 22 times in 1 year (twenty-two in one!) and was then found to fall short of the demands society makes on dogs.

METHODS – FRUMMEL was left at the animal clinic in a state of horrible neglect and they wanted to put him down.
Thankfully, a veterinary assistant took Frummel home and informed the Animal Pyramid Foundation.

Zafiera
METHODS – This miracle foal was born totally unexpectedly in 2006. It turned out that Nienke, her mother, contrary to all arrangements, had been serviced at her temporary shelter.
Nienke clearly showed some discomfort, but three veterinary surgeons were not able to tell what was wrong with her. Since Nienke is a rather sturdy, rotund little Shetland mare, nobody noticed what was really the matter. Zafiera was born in March and housed in the scullery, as it was too cold to put her in the stables outside.

Finally, on 10 April, it was time for the horses to go outside again. This picture shows how glad they were. The brown horse is called Bruno. He is 25 years old, but still running around all cheerful and excited. That’s what we at the Animal Pyramid Foundation like to see
